Growing up in the Riot Grrrl era of the 1990’s, I witnessed firsthand how zines became vehicles for creative expression and cultural and political critique. Photocopied, stapled, and passed from hand to hand or via post, zines carried the voices of artists, activists, and outsiders that deeply inspired Gen X and Gen Y.
Domestic Blisster Zine looks back to that legacy while asking a contemporary question: how are artists making sense of the reality of life in the 21st century?
Domestic Blisster will be showcasing visual art that reflects the many ways we process the world around us. Whether through humor, rage, fantasy, intimacy, nostalgia, escapism, or radical imagination, this zine celebrates the enduring power of art to connect, provoke, comfort, and transform.
